Winning a Democratic House Majority in 2026 is NOT a Foregone Conclusion.
About JFW
JFW is a joint fundraising agreement providing hard money to the six most vulnerable freshmen Democratic incumbents. JFW is not focused on issues or geography—it is focused on winning a Democratic House majority.
Background
Heading into the 2024 elections, Democrats needed to gain four seats to earn a majority. Democrats thought winning the House was a foregone conclusion.
What happened?
Democrats flipped nine seats and Republicans flipped eight; Democrats are still down by three seats.
Of the nine seats Democrats won:
JFW Fund is a joint fundraising agreement which currently supports the six most vulnerable Democratic House members—those who flipped their districts with margins under 3%:
Congressman Adam Gray
Flipped CA-13 with a 0.09% margin (187 votes)
Congressman Derek Tran
Flipped CA-45 with a 0.21% margin (653 votes)
Congressman Josh Riley
Flipped NY-19 with a 2.21% margin (8,357 votes)
Congresswoman Laura Gillen
Flipped NY-4 with a 2.29% margin (8,603 votes)
Congressman George Whitesides
Flipped CA-27 with a 2.66% margin (7,990 votes)
Congresswoman Janelle Bynum
Flipped OR-5 with a 2.73% margin (10,945 votes)
In order to win the House in 2026, we must defend our most vulnerable seats and flip three seats.
The 2026 Senate map does not present many Democratic pickup opportunities.
If we want guardrails in 2026, the best option is the House!
