My name is Jane George, and I’m running for Congress in Tennessee’s 2nd District. Our district needs strong leadership that advocates for workers and women.
As a lifelong union member, I’ve fought for fair wages and safe working conditions for decades. I’m committed to continuing that fight in Congress while safeguarding reproductive rights and ensuring access to quality healthcare.
My opponent, Tim Burchett, has consistently voted against women and working people. He supports restricting access to reproductive healthcare and undermines women's rights. His divisive comments about Vice President Kamala Harris further prove he’s out of touch with the values Tennesseans deserve.
Women in our district are facing a healthcare crisis:
- 5 of the 7 counties in our district are maternity care deserts.
- 81.1% of counties in Tennessee have a high burden of chronic health conditions
- 44% of women in Tennessee have chronic health conditions, increasing the risk of preterm births.
