I graduated from Cornell College in 2006, then completed my Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas in 2009. My husband, Brian, and I were fortunate to be able to make the decision for me to be a stay-at-home-mom after our son, William, was born. This opened up the opportunity for me to become a full-time advocate and use my background in professional local government management to benefit a growing gun violence prevention movement: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
I have been a dedicated advocate for the safety and well-being of children and families, and this journey has led me here. I am running for reelection to Kansas House of Representatives District 17 so that we can keep pushing for policies that would provide relief for all Kansans - like eliminating the Food Sales Tax. We must take meaningful action to have the best schools, adopt responsible budgets, make sure that all Kansans have access to health-care and affordable prescription drugs, and pass sensible gun laws that save lives.
