I am Joaquín Beltrán, a software engineer and community organizer, a proud son of immigrant parents who came to the United States for the American dream, and a fighter for our community's health and prosperity.
If you are like me, you are tired of politicians playing games with our lives and the lives of our loved ones. If you are like me, you are tired of being told the economy is great while our paychecks are able to pay for less and more people are falling by the wayside. If you are like me, you are heartbroken by the videos coming out of Gaza and have been calling an end to the genocide and for a permanent ceasefire.
I am running because our future is on the line and no one in power is coming to save us. We the people have to save ourselves. I am running because our government should prioritize everyday people over wealthy donors and big lobbying groups that continue to exacerbate the enormous problems our generation is facing: health and housing, climate and ecosystems collapse, and war.
