ABOUT John Cicala

I am an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of North Alabama, where I have been a member of the faculty since 2019. Prior to this, I was a tenured professor of Marketing at Texas A&M University-Kingsville from 2011 - 2019 where I directed the Center for Negotiation, after receiving training from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, MIT, and Tufts University in Massachusetts. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Memphis. I am also an avid history buff, specifically with regards to the history and politics of colonial America. I reside in Huntsville, AL with my wife of 26 years, Karen, who is a 7th and 8th-grade math teacher in the Huntsville City School system.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxColePark is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At the TEDxColePark event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
