I’m Josh Taveras, and I’m running to represent you in the U.S. House of Representatives. My journey—from growing up in Copiague as the child of Dominican immigrants to navigating the challenges of informal kinship care to becoming one of the first in my family to graduate college—has shaped my commitment to fighting for hardworking families, marginalized communities, and a better tomorrow for everyone.

I’ve experienced firsthand the struggles of living paycheck to paycheck, of dealing with systemic inequities, and of fighting to have my voice heard as a proud gay man. I know what it’s like to feel left behind. That’s why I’m running—to ensure no one in our community feels like they’re forgotten. But I can’t do this alone. Winning this race and bringing the change our district needs will take all of us standing together.
