Joshua Wiley for State Board of Education, Ward 6

Joshua Wiley is running for the Ward 6 seat on the DC State Board of Education to bring the perspective of an educator, school leader, and community advocate to the decisions that impact our students and schools.

As an Assistant Principal in Washington, DC, Joshua works every day with students, families, and educators. He understands both the opportunities and challenges facing public education and believes every student deserves access to excellent schools, strong academic programs, and the support they need to succeed.

Joshua's priorities include:

  • Strengthening academic achievement and student outcomes.
  • Addressing chronic absenteeism and increasing student engagement.
  • Supporting and retaining excellent teachers and school staff.
  • Expanding opportunities in science, technology, arts, and career education.
  • Ensuring families have a meaningful voice in education policy.

About the Fair Elections Program

Joshua is proud to participate in DC's Fair Elections Program, which helps make local elections more accessible and community-driven.

The program allows candidates to rely on broad support from residents rather than large contributions from a small number of donors. Eligible donations from DC residents are matched with public funds, amplifying the impact of small-dollar contributions.

The maximum contribution is $20 per DC resident.

Whether you contribute, volunteer, or share the campaign with friends and neighbors, your support helps build a campaign rooted in the community and focused on the future of Ward 6 students.
