Joy Bennett has become a familiar face in the Mason community, standing for common-sense leadership and elevating all voices.
Her political endeavors include standing against local government overreach by using our citizen power of referendum and petition to push back on unpopular council decisions, including a development planned for downtown Mason. She also ran for state representative in 2022, out-raising and out-performing previous candidates with her party.
Joy was an important part of the resounding win in 2021 of a more moderate, collaborative slate of Mason City Council members. Now she wants to join that body so that Mason can reach its full potential and focus on issues that will truly improve the lives of its citizens.
She has earned a reputation for being a passionate listener, a committed advocate, and a creative problem-solver for the city who will serve with the energy and engagement you deserve in a Mason city council member.
