Greetings, my name is Byron D. Brooks. As the Founding President of this initiative, I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about my vision and potentially becoming a supporter of this initiative. 2020 was indeed a trying moment for our Nation, living amid two pandemics: one dealing with health and the other dealing with racial injustice. Racial Tensions were truly at a boiling point, with the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. It was in the midst of these pandemics, where I came to the realization that we are the change of which we seek; hence the activist within me was birthed. Through my Non-Profit organization, From The Hood For The Hood, we began an initiative to dismantle systemic racism entitled, Enough is Enough: The Road To Social Equity. Education is an essential tool in the fight to dismantle systemic racism and promote social equity. That is why I have been tirelessly working on establishing the John Punch Fellowship under the umbrella of my 501c3 organization, From The Hood For The Hood. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization dedicated to developing, empowering, and engaging young people and communities that are often overlooked. While also being a training catalyst for social justice and combating homelessness. I hope that after learning about what we are trying to do, you would be willing to help turn our dream into reality through your financial support!
