Hi!
I’m Jacob Trujillo, and I’m running for Public Education Commission District 3 because our students, families, and educators deserve leadership that understands the system and is willing to fight for it.
I attended a charter school right here in District 3 from 6th through 12th grade. I’ve lived the charter school experience firsthand. I’ve seen the opportunities these schools can create, and I’ve also seen where stronger oversight is needed.
Since graduating, I’ve dedicated my career to public service, with a focus on listening to our community, acting on their concerns, and delivering real results.
For nearly five years, I’ve worked as a congressional staffer in Albuquerque, helping people get answers, access resources, and hold government accountable.
I’ve also stayed active locally, including serving on the Near North Valley Neighborhood Association Board. In 2025, I was elected Chair of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County, where I’ve continued that same approach of listening first and delivering.
I’m running because we need leadership that puts students and families first and takes accountability seriously.
This campaign is different because it is a write-in race. We need at least 1,000 voters to write in “Jacob Trujillo” on their Primary ballot for their vote to count.
That means we have to invest in voter education and printed materials so people know exactly how to do it. Flyers, mailers, and direct outreach will make the difference between winning and falling short.
Republicans currently control the Public Education Commission. This is our opportunity to change that.
Your contribution will go directly toward educating voters, printing materials, and building the outreach needed to win.
If you believe in strong public education and real accountability, I’m asking you to chip in and help us get this done.
Thank you,
Jacob
