Health Care is the major issue before Congress right now, and President Obama wants a bill by fall. Right now, there are several proposals out there, some with public options, some without. There's the Co-op idea. Do you know what that is (Feinstein appears to support that one) and what the pros and cons of that system would be?
We'll be listening to one of the top experts from the health care industry, a former executive who resigned to protest insurance company practices. We'll get answers to questions we have put to Ezra Klein, well known policy expert and Washington Post writer (and son of our member, Jacqueline Klein). We hope to be able to show a couple of the stories from our video project as well. It's time for us to tell Congress what we, the people want for health care reform. Get informed, get the facts, and be ready to act!
Our doors open shortly about 4:15 pm so you can register, order the drink of your choice, make your supper menu selection and chat with your neighbors before our program begins at 4:45 pm. Supper will be served at approximately 5:45 pm as our meeting continues with announcements and discussion. Socializing continues over a piece of Marie's famous pie.
Join us in the private room at Marie Callender's in Irvine. It's on Culver Drive at Irvine Center Drive. Supper is $18.00, and includes a choice of four menu items, along with corn bread, choice of coffee, iced tea or fountain drinks, pie, tax and tip. Those who do not want supper pay $5.00, which includes one of the above drinks. Pay $9.00 for drinks plus your choice of pie. Those prices include tip and tax. Wine can be ordered as well at the door, but must be paid for by check or cash.
