Many creatives have an enduring commitment to inspire through creativity but need financial assistance to bring their next idea to life. Artist and community advocate Janel Young is excited to offer this $1,000 award to a young creative to pursue a current or future project.
Applications for each year typically open on October 23rd to recognize Janel Young Day. The City of Pittsburgh awarded Janel a proclamation for her community-centered effort to wrap the city in color in 2019. On the anniversary the following year, Janel established the JY Originals Scholarship for Creatives.
