On 12/14/12, I was sitting in a professional development training about community organizing when I got a text from my brother: "Something is going on at Sandy Hook School." I remember taking a cab home that night, scrolling through twitter, seeing #Newtown trending. I could not believe that such a terrible tragedy was occurring in my hometown. From that moment on, I knew I had to join the fight to end gun violence.
I soon found a community of tough, persistent and talented people who were doing everything they could to end gun violence. It is a privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with them and demand action for gun sense in America.
This January, I moved to DC to take on a new role in this movement. If you are considering a donation, know that your funds will help volunteers on the ground in Washington, DC do the incredible work they are doing.
Thank you for your support, whether or not you donate!
