The 89th District is a top tier pickup opportunity for Democrats in November located in parts of Chesapeake & Suffolk, as this is an open seat that former Vice President Kamala Harris won by over 3%. In 2023, the district saw a razor-thin margin, with the Democratic candidate, Karen Jenkins, losing by only 521 votes. Flipping the 89th District blue means Democrats can not only maintain, but expand their majority in the House of Delegates.
