The immigration detention facility rapes must stop
For months, reports have been pouring in about women being raped by guards at the for-profit immigrant detention facility in Karnes County, Texas.
And now the situation is about to get even worse—because the corporation that runs the center just got approval to double the number of detainees housed at the facility.
This is outrageous. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has no business allowing this facility to be expanded until they can guarantee that the families housed there are safe.
But since DHS has so far refused to listen to these women’s complaints, we’re paying for mobile billboards and subway ads near DHS headquarters in Washington, D.C. Will you chip in?
