John is running for a full term on Clinton’s Town Council after being previously elected to an unexpired term in 2022. Keeping Clinton a green, affordable, and safe place to live is his goal.
He serves as the Council liaison to the seniors, Environmental and Shade Tree Commissions, volunteers with the Conservancy Gardens, and heads the Clinton Green Team. John has leadership positions with several conservation organizations including the National Parks Conservation Association and the Sierra Club, where he focuses on public lands management.
John has extensive experience in local government. Recently, the NJ League of Municipalities appointed him to the Legislative Committee. John previously served as Councilman in the Borough of Closter for nine years, where he made land preservation and fiscal responsibility a key component of his tenure.
John recently retired from The New York Times from his position as a Manager in Financial Planning and Analysis. He and his husband, Jonathan, enjoy hiking with their two Labrador retrievers. They chose Clinton for their home because of its historic character, friendly neighbors, and access to open space.
