When my oldest daughter started pre-K, she had her first lockdown drill in her public elementary school. It horrified me to hear my four-year-old describe practicing hiding in the bathroom and being quiet as just part of her school routine. That motivated me to get involved in the gun violence prevention movement with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
Over the last year, I have learned that I don't have to accept the trend of guns-everywhere-for-everyone toward which America is moving, and that there are simple actions I can personally take to change conversations with friends and neighbors, laws at the state and national level, and policies in private businesses. I believe we can #endgunviolence. Please donate now to help Moms Demand Action mobilize me and thousands of other volunteers like me across the country in new, powerful ways.
