In 2021, the Kennedy Democrats were working to protect gains Democrats have made around Philadelphia and Pittsburgh over the past four years in the face of overwhelming odds. Since our founding in 2019, we’ve raised over $925,000 on behalf of Democrats running up and down the ballot. Our endorsees in 2019 flipped four county governments outside Philadelphia from Republican to Democrat and held ground in three more across the state, and our endorsees in 2020 and 2021 held ground in tough districts during a tough cycle. With our help, Democrats increased turnout for the presidential election 23% in both the suburbs around Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
Between 2016 and 2020, Democrats had a net loss of 4,200 votes in Philadelphia but gained 104,700 votes immediately outside the city. Mobilizing voters in the swing areas outside Philadelphia and Pittsburg is the key for Democrats to win elections, and that’s why Kennedy Democrats has been working to give candidates in these crucial areas the resources to win.
This year, the Kennedy Democrats are working to flip the PA State House and the PA State Senate in the midterm elections. It won’t be easy, but we think we can make it happen with hard work and the generous help of supporters like you. We are honored to have you with us.
