In 2 weeks from today, I will announce officially my sticker/write-in campaign for an At-Large seat on the Boston City Council. As I write, my family and my friends, mentors, professors and so many that have influenced me over the years, I hope to bring to the City Council here in Boston.
As you can see, I am enthusiastic about the possibility of serving the people of this great city. However, before I can serve we must conduct a very aggressive campaign. My opponents are quite set in their political career with some being in office for a couple of years. Due to the peculiar layout of this large city and the cost to campaign this territory, they have had an advantage in several elections. This is one more reason I feel strongly that I must step forward and offer the voters of Boston a new choice.
To be successful in this endeavor, it will take a very strong and dedicated grassroots organization. I believe the voters of this city will step forward with my family in a united volunteer effort. As you may have guessed my children are already hard at work designing flyers, building winning strategies of their own, and decorating the campaign headquarters. The two oldest have volunteered to help knock on doors, place yard signs and of course, participate in any upcoming parades and events.
With thousands of brochures to purchase, hundreds of yard signs to order, stickers, scores of radio ads to place, and the entire city to cover, I will need help. I am turning to the people who have known me the longest, who know me best and humbly invite you to get involved in my campaign and help make a difference.
Your early contribution, made payable to “Kev @ Large” will give our race a tremendous boost right out of the starting block.
Your gift of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000 will help me raise the vital “early seed money” I need to successfully launch this campaign.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by launch date, August 20th, and I humbly ask for your support in helping us rise to this great challenge.
There is a place to contribute online enclosed in this message that I hope you will use and help me in my journey to RiseUp Boston amid an ongoing housing crisis and economic struggle within the city.
Thanks in advance for your encouragement, generous support, and prayers. Mimi and I are both grateful for your friendship and wish you many blessings!
Very Respectfully,
Kevin Christopher Reed
