We are a team of artists-as-teachers that facilitates brave spaces for kids to create, dream, and imagine radically.
KidsArts was started as an independent, grassroots arts organization in 1986 by Jamaica Plain artists and active community members. The goal was to provide a setting for children to receive much-needed exposure to visual and performing art instruction. KidsArts was incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization to continue, true to its roots, as a community-based afterschool arts program.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our team has adapted continually to meet the changing needs of our community, provide a safe and supportive artistic outlet for kids during this time, and to maintain our dedicated staff of artists-as-teachers.
