Wear Orange: March to End Gun Violence with Mayor Barnett in Naples, Florida and in coordination with other groups and similar events across the country on June 3rd, 2017. Last year more than 500 influencers, corporations, non-profit partner organizations, elected officials, iconic landmarks and hundreds of thousands of Americans participated in the second annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Wear Orange was inspired by friends of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago high school student killed by gunfire, who decided to honor her life by wearing orange – the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others.
Your donations will go to support Wear Orange events across the nation, including our event in Naples, Florida, which will raise awareness locally and provide resources for getting involved. Donations will also go to the BeSMART campaign, which helps parents and adults prevent child gun deaths and injuries, the Everytown Survivor Network, Survivor Engagement programs, Gun Sense University which trains hundreds of activists and survivors to increase their impact in working to reduce gun violence, and The Everytown for Gun Safety Research Support Fund.
