Thank you

Goal thermometer

for supporting my run for Charleston County Council, District 3. I pledge to work for the residents of Charleston County:

  • Healthy Environment is key to a healthy community. When the wetlands are healthy and protected, flooding is reduced. When we prevent air, water, and land pollution, our children grow up healthy and strong.
  • Community thrives when we provide public transportation, affordable housing, and small business opportunities. Conflicts of interest in government often stand in the way of true community development; opening the doors to public scrutiny can provide more opportunities for local business and innovators to participate in development.
  • Racial Disparities are perpetuated by our local institutions. We see these impacts in environmental, affordable housing, criminal justice, and education disparities.
  • Transparency has been lacking in Charleston County government. The slow moving disaster of the Naval Hospital property is a prime example of how opaque processes have financially harmed our county. In addition, conflicts of interest in government often stand in the way of true community development, Opening the doors to public scrutiny can provide more opportunities for local business and innovators to participate in development.
  • Accountability to voters and citizens of Charleston County is realized when the voters, rather than wealthy or powerful players, choose the candidates. We need objective standards for redistricting, and we need our votes to have more impact than dark money. The many voices of citizens should not be drowned out by the voices of a few with wealth or power.

Together we can bring accountability, reconciliation, and voting power back to the people of Charleston County!
