Thanks to the generous support of thousands of donors over the last 12 months, La Colaborativa has provided lifesaving supports to tens of thousands of community members living through a pandemic in Massachusetts' hardest-hit city.
We've launched considerable expansions to our work on the ground! Our team is growing, our menu of programs and services is expanding, and we are continuing to implement our “whatever it takes” approach to supporting families through the pandemic.
Your gift made through this page will support key pandemic response initiatives in 2021, including:
- Daily food pantry distribution and delivery to an average of 7,000+ households weekly
- Weekly diaper and baby supply distributions
- Community outreach and education - bringing bilingual and bicultural public health and know your rights information to every corner of our community.
- Community-based COVID vaccinations happening in our headquarters, with healthcare workers from East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC)
- Anti-displacement advocacy and direct services to keep families housed and healthy
- Direct financial assistance to impacted workers and families, including no-strings-attached cash assistance and support with applications for private and public benefits (unemployment, rent relief, etc.)
- Virtual English, job readiness, and citizenship classes focused on getting our community back to work
- Statewide advocacy for a just recovery from the pandemic
