La Colaborativa's Food Access & Nutrition programs support 13,000 households every year, whether to address long term household instability, or as support during a difficult time. Food should never be a political bargaining chip, and we will keep feedings our neighbors while providing dignity, love, and respect.
Further, donated funds allow La Colaborativa to support a community member of family where they need it most, not where a Federal grant or contract prescribes. Support like yours allows us to house evicted families, bring domestic violence survivors to safety, provide safety and training equipment for new job opportunities, and distribute quality food to thousands of families each week.

If you cannot support financially but want to help keep your neighbors fed, the items most commonly used and needed in our food pantry include:
• Dairy products: milk, cheese, yogurt
• Grains & staples: rice, beans, Maseca (corn flour), pasta
• Breakfast essentials: cereal, granola
• Protein options: eggs, proteins (chicken, pork, beef), lentils, peanut butter etc
• Other culturally essential foods widely used by our community like Yucca, Plantains, Oils
Every donation helps put nutritious foods on the tables of families seeking household stability during this difficult time for our nation. Between layoffs, inflation, ICE activity, and economic stress, the most vulnerable families in our communities will be the first to go hungry as the Federal government refuses to end this shutdown.
In 2025 La Colaborativa is focused on building equity in our home community of Chelsea. Providing a centralized, robust, and quality facility of resources that our communities can count on during times they need our support to reach socioeconomic stability and economic mobility.
