Candace, a first-generation “Blacktina,” embodies the fusion of Black American and Guatemalan immigrant heritage. Her commitment to justice is deeply rooted in her multiracial background and her dedication as a community organizer.

With an extensive public service background, including roles on the City’s Citizen Review Committee and the Portland Charter Commission, Candace is well-equipped to tackle Portland’s challenges as a nonprofit executive director and dedicated community leader.

Her vision for Portland is unwaveringly focused on inclusivity and equity, ensuring that every voice is heard and every community thrives. Electing Candace to the City Council will mark a historic moment for East Portland, finally granting it the representation it deserves.
