At Lean Left Vermont, we are raising early funds for The States Project to make sure the NC House Democratic Caucus has the resources and technical support they need to win back multiple seats and break the Republican hold on NC. This focus on state legislative candidates will have ramifications all the way to the top of the ticket.

State legislatures play a critical role in American policy and politics. NC is a solidly purple state, but, after a decade of gerrymandering, Republicans won a supermajority in 2023 and promptly passed extreme and unpopular laws (an abortion ban, anti-voting measures, anti-LGBTQ+ measures, elimination of background checks on gun sales).


The States Project is the leading national group funding strategic campaign work to win state legislative victories and break Republican control of legislatures. They provide a high return on Democratic investment, lifting the top of the ticket by turning out voters who care about local issues.


The States Project will continue raising funds to build on our early investment. 100% of your contribution goes to the support of candidates who are running in the closest districts in the state.
