Adelante Legal Fund

Adelante students choose to fight for justice and to pursue education despite threats to their liberty. Youth members of Adelante Student Voices are being subjected to the same cruel immigration enforcement tactics as the wider community. Several of the teenagers in our program have received notices to appear in court for removal proceedings. Agencies that provide pro bono immigration support are at capacity, and private firms are facing similar strains which has led to an increase in costs.

You have the opportunity to help. Adelante has partnered with trustworthy lawyers in the community for two strategies:

1. Rapid access to legal counsel for members in removal proceedings.
2. Proactive screening for eligibility for pathways to residency, especially Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), and funding to assist with these applications for youth members.
