  • Leila is running for Iowa House District 54. No Democrat has run in this district since 2020. Leila has been endorsed by Run For Something. Local press has rated this race as competitive. While her opponent accepted mostly PAC money in 2025, Leila has raised all her campaign funds from people.


  • She has knocked on over 1,000 doors in District 54 and heard loud and clear the priorities of the District are: (1) strong public schools, (2) protecting family farms, (3) expanding health care accessibility and affordability (including OBGYN), and (4) improved water quality.
