Help Fight for a Livable Portland

Hi, I'm Leo H -- a worker, organizer, and member of Maine DSA. I'm collecting donations for our Livable Portland campaign because I love my city, and I want to be able to live here for the rest of my life alongside my family, friends, and neighbors. Join in our fight against the cost of living crisis and for a city we can (just maybe) afford to live in.

In 2020, 60% of voters decided to put people first in Portland. Overcoming a $1 million campaign to stop us funded by landlords, bosses, and corporations. We won a reprieve for everyone in Portland. A bright spot amongst cascading crises that is modern day America.

The bosses and landlords say we went too far, but when we talk to our neighbors and co-workers, no one really feels secure. The pandemic isn't over yet the city voted against hazard pay. They refuse to enforce the rent control laws or protect tenants, and more and more homes are being turned into airbnbs.

So we're back on the ballot fighting for the people of Portland, and we know that we can expect the same if not more opposition this time. We are the only ones that can save ourselves. I'm with DSA because I believe when workers and tenants get organized a better world is possible. If you're able please consider donating $100, $50, or $25 today.
