Citizens for a Healthy Iowa

Sign on: Gov. Branstad, tell us your plan for clean water!

Before the governor delivers his Condition of the State address on Tuesday, we need him to know where we stand.

Sign our open letter demanding a plan for Iowa’s water quality today:

Dear Governor Branstad,

As Iowans, we urge you to include a plan to improve Iowa’s water quality in your agenda for the year.

Clean water is essential to Iowa’s economy, our health, and our way of life. Yet our water quality is in crisis statewide:

40% of monitored waterways are considered “poor” or “very poor” according to Iowa DNR. 94% of monitored waterways earned a “C” grade or worse. This costs Iowans millions of dollars in taxes and rate increases at the local and state level.

We know that Iowa faces a number of challenges, but few are more important than this one. Iowans deserve a plan for clean water.

Sincerely,

Citizens for a Healthy Iowa on behalf of thousands of Iowans
