Long Island/NYC Grassroots Meetup and Forum

Let’s work together to achieve our

progressive goals! Sun. Oct. 27th 12:30-4:30pm

Together, New York State activists helped change the face of NY politics: we won the biggest Democratic majority in the State Senate since 1912. We obliterated the IDC, and helped pass groundbreaking legislation on the environment, housing, civil rights, and so much more.

Today, some of that legislation has been signed into law; much of it still languishes on the Governor’s desk.

With the momentum we've created, there is so much more we can and should do to solve the problems New Yorkers face. We need to revitalize our democracy with publicly financed elections to get money out of politics and enable more people to run for office. We must push the Senate to keep its campaign promises on the NY Health Act, Immigration, and Public School Funding, and find creative, fair ways to generate the revenue to fund these policies.

Please join us on Oct. 27th, as we bring together grassroots activists from Long Island and NYC to strategize ways to work together to win our legislative agenda on Sunday, Oct. 27th from 12:30-4:30pm at Allen Park in Farmingdale, a one-hour trip from NYC on the LIRR. Please see registration email for details and sign up for station pickup. A light lunch will be served.

Sponsored by Long Island Activists & The True Blue NY Grassroots Coalition.
