I am a volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. As a mom of a boy starting kindergarten this fall, I worry about his safety in our community in a variety of ways, especially around the issue of gun violence.
My work with Moms has given me an opportunity to make a difference in making our community safer from gun violence. This June 2nd I’ll be wearing orange to recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day and to honor victims of gun violence.
I’m also raising money to support the work that I and thousands of others do in our state. I’m asking my friends to join in and make a donation. Any amount will help -- as little as $9.30 or as much as $93 -- will represent the 93 Americans that are killed each day by gun violence.
