This month, we are raising much-needed funds for our current phone banking partner in Pennsylvania, BlueVote.org. This plucky little organization gets out the vote, counters disinformation, and trains young leaders, all on a shoestring budget. It has been lauded and singled out as one of the most effective phone banking groups in Pennsylvania.
But to do the work, BlueVote needs our support! The money we raise will go directly towards phone calls, not salaries. While phone bankers are volunteers, the technology and data that make their time effective can get expensive when things add up. The cost is about $0.04 per call, so a typical phone bank of 3,500–5,000 calls runs about $140–$200. Buying well-selected voter lists and accurate public information to make those calls also adds up.
Your donation will help build the grassroots tools and infrastructure people need to connect, organize, and get people to the polls. Considering that elections can be decided by a handful of votes per precinct in this swingiest of swing states, with your support, BlueVote phone banks could well win us the Midterms!
Give what you can and be part of a people-powered movement rebuilding democracy one conversation at a time!
