Let the Voters Decide

Donate to the Yes for Local Public Utilities Campaign

The Republican legislature took the utilities owned by the residents of the City of Gainesville and gave them to Gov. Ron DeSantis and his appointees in 2023. There was no vote and the people had no voice.

Gainesville residents rose up to demand a say in the matter last year. The Gainesville Commission listened and put the future of the GRU Authority to a referendum in which nearly 73 percent of City voters chose to abolish the unelected Authority. However, the referendum was invalidated due to a grammatical error. Once again, Gainesville residents have demanded a say and the City Commission has put a second referendum on the ballot in a special election scheduled for November.

Once again, it's time to take local governance back in November. Donate to the official campaign of "Yes for Local Public Utilities" to keep Gainesville LOCAL
