Lorene Martin Memorial Breakfast and March to the Polls!

Join us for the 2025 Lorene Martin Memorial Breakfast in Uptown Martinsville, followed by a March to the Polls and canvass launch.

Breakfast will be a southern-style continental buffet, and attendees will hear about the legacy of Lorene Martin.

November 1 is the last day to vote early in Virginia, and attendees who have not cast their ballot are encouraged to head to the polls after the event to vote. The MHC Democratic Committee will also hold Get Out the Vote canvasses afterwards.

About Lorene Martin

Lorene Martin was an area Democratic activist known for her fiery spirit and refusal to take “no” for an answer. Martin served as co-chair of the newly combined Martinsville-Henry County Democratic Committee, along with Phil Burnette. She passed away in 2011, and the committee established the Memorial Breakfast in her honor. This is the first year the committee is able to hold the Memorial Breakfast since 2019.
