Martinsville-Henry County Democratic Committee (VA)

Join Us at the Lorene Martin Memorial Breakfast

Enjoy the fellowship of the Democratic community with a continental breakfast and fundraiser. Stick around after breakfast and honor Lorene's legacy by learning about how you can help Get Out The Vote in the last days of the election—perfect for both beginners and seasoned volunteers!

Sat October 24, 2026

8am - 10am

MHCDC Office at 100 E Main St, Martinsville

We will serve a light continental buffet while you get to know your fellow Democrats. Meet committee members and ask about ways you can still get involved before the final day of this election season, including canvassing, phonebanking, and donating to the cause.

About Lorene Martin

Lorene Martin was an area Democratic activist known for her fiery spirit and refusal to take “no” for an answer. Martin served as co-chair of the newly combined Martinsville-Henry County Democratic Committee, along with Phil Burnette. She passed away in 2011, and the committee established the Memorial Breakfast in her honor.

About the Martinsville-Henry County Democratic Committee

The Martinsville-Henry County Democratic Committee is a local volunteer group associated with the Democratic Party of Virginia that works to elect progressive leaders at the local, state, and federal level with character, integrity, vision, and a commitment to delivering results. The committee holds voter drives, fundraisers, candidate meet-and-greets, and participates in local charity events.

Every dollar that we raise goes right back into the local activities and initiatives that we support. We couldn't do this without you.
