I’m #StickingWithEd because we need strong, bold, and compassionate progressive leaders like him. Ed is the son of a union leader and a milkman. He grew up in a working class family where he learned about hard work and it inspired him to fight for everyone else to have the same opportunities as him.
Senator Markey has helped protect the rights of the LGBTQ community, women, people of color, immigrants, and other minorities. He co-wrote the Green New Deal, a landmark piece of legislation that would help to protect my future and the future of this planet. He has also been a major advocate in the fight to end Alzheimers disease.
As a high schooler, one major thing that worries me about going to school is gun violence. In 2019, Ed Markey secured $25 million in funding from the CDC for research on gun violence. He also introduced the Making America Safe and Secure, or MASS Act, which would incentivize states to adopt similar gun-licensing laws to those of Massachusetts, which has one of the lowest gun death rates in the nation. If re-elected, I know Senator Markey will continue to fight for common-sense gun violence prevention laws like this and will continue to fight for everyday people like you and me.
Ed has fought relentlessly for progressive values during his time in the Massachusetts House, US House, and US Senate. I am confident that he will continue to do so if re-elected. As Ed said when he refused to compromise while fighting for judicial reform, “the bosses can tell him where to sit, but no one tells him where to stand” and that’s why I’m sticking with Ed.
This campaign relies on grassroots donors. Can you donate $1, $3, $5, or more and help re-elect Ed Markey?
