The Glynn County Democratic Party welcomes Georgia's statewide elected
PSC Commissioner, Alicia Johnson

Dr. Alicia M. Johnson made history with her election to the Georgia Public Service Commission, marking a series of unprecedented firsts in Georgia’s civic leadership. She is the first African American woman elected to a statewide executive office in Georgia and the first African American woman to serve in the Commission’s more than 100-year history, a milestone reflecting a transformative moment for the state. Her victory signaled a broad, cross-community mandate for transparent, accountable, and consumer-focused utility regulation. As a Commissioner, Dr. Johnson brings a values-driven, data-informed approach, centering affordability, reliability, and long-term sustainability while ensuring that historically underrepresented communities have a meaningful voice in decisions that shape Georgia’s economic and energy future.
