Actually putting that solution into practice is tough. This week I published a column in my local paper taking my own city to task for building just 5 new units of housing over the past year. That's right 5. Experts estimate MA is hundreds of thousands of units short of where we need to be for a healthy housing market, so numbers that can be counted on your fingers aren't going to cut it.
This issue is personal for me. I'm a renter, and last spring I faced the same slog that so many people across our state face: finding a new apartment in the community I live in.
