As a membership organization, we are powered entirely by our membership and community supporters. The work we do as a chapter is democratically decided by members, not by wealthy donors, political parties, or a board of directors.
Our vision is that both the economy and society should be run democratically—to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few. To achieve a more just society, many structures of our government and economy must be radically transformed through greater economic and social democracy so that ordinary Americans can participate in the many decisions that affect our lives.
Your contribution today powers our existing projects, and allows us to continue the fight for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice in Maine.
