I’m Makala Washington and I’m running to protect our public schools, restore women’s right to bodily autonomy, and stop Texas’ slide into extremism.

Incumbent Jeff Leach has spent a decade in office dragging Texas back to the 19th century. His accomplishments include stripping women of their bodily autonomy, supporting the strictest abortion ban in America, and making it easier for mass murderers to obtain weapons of mass death despite having two mass shootings in his district. He was once named the worst legislator in Austin. Through multiple special sessions last legislature, Leach repeatedly supported Gov. Abbott’s voucher scam that would defund our public schools.
