Hi! It’s Makeda Zulu.

I’m running for Hennepin County Commissioner in District 2. For nearly 20 years I’ve worked at the University of Minnesota’s Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center, helping communities and institutions solve real problems together. Before that I worked with families, youth and local organizations to seize opportunities like post secondary education and trades, employment and enrichment.

Now I’m running to bring that same collaborative leadership to the county, focusing on stable housing, strong public systems, and opportunity for every resident.
