After the Eaton Fire devastated Altadena in January 2025, Mano a Mano (Hand in Hand) was there from day one. With the support of hundreds of volunteers, we provided food, diapers, cleaning supplies, and other essentials to families who lost everything. In the midst of heartbreak, Mano a Mano became a space of care, solidarity, and community.
Today, that need continues. What began during COVID-19 as a collaboration between Pasadena day laborers and local faith communities now supports more than 300 families each week—more than double the number served before the fire.
Every Friday, our volunteer-led food distribution at the Pasadena Community Job Center welcomes families from Pasadena, Altadena, and beyond through both walk-up and drive-through distribution. We prioritize families impacted by the fire, but no one leaves empty-handed.
As a partner site of the LA Regional Food Bank, we distribute fresh food and essential household items each week. Your donation helps purchase additional pantry staples like milk and eggs and ensures families continue receiving the support they need.
To donate by check, please make it payable to the National Day Laborer Organizing Network and write “Mano a Mano” in the memo line. Mail to:
