At the Maricopa County Democratic Party, we work to elect Democrats to ALL levels of office across the county and state. With a diverse and fast-growing population of over 4.7 million, Maricopa County is the 4th most populous county in the US and the largest "battleground" or swing-county in the nation. 

We have a Democratic Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State partially due to our work in Maricopa County; and in 2026 we must protect our incumbents who will be the last line of defense against the second Trump administration.

In addition, we have some new plans for 2025 and 2026:

1.) Year-Round Organizing and Listening to Voters—Not Just Talking at Them

This year we’re launching a major listening tour across the county, which comprises over 60% of the voters in Arizona. We’ll be on the ground, speaking directly with voters to understand why they didn’t turn out for Democrats in 2024—and how we can rebuild that trust with working-class voters. In addition, we plan on registering voters year-round because we know that registration numbers need to be improved if we want to be successful in 2026 and 2028.

2.) Training Local Democratic Leaders

Legislative District (LD) leaders are often the first point of contact for voters. We want to set them up for success. With this in mind, we’re implementing a professional, in-depth training program for all LD Chairs and Board Members. Well-trained LDs mean greater community engagement, not just with local issues, but with the Democratic Party and its platform as a whole. Furthermore, we plan on doubling the amount of Democratic PCs throughout the county because these create highly engaged activists at the ground level.
