Mario will grab the County’s challenges by the Horns


Mario Benavente has never shied away from a challenge. In just two-terms on Fayetteville City Council, Mario was able to champion the establishment of the Office of Community Safety (OCS). As a Golden Bull E.E. Smith alum, Mario grabbed the OCS challenge by the horns, partnered with fellow council members, and ensured the project did not stall. With OCS’ formation, Fayetteville will now benefit from a compassionate and comprehensive approach to public safety.


In four short years, not only has Mario overseen OCS’ formation, but also he has mobilized countless residents who otherwise felt unheard and unseen. As an At-Large Commissioner, Mario will continue to champion the wishes of the people — to swiftly ensure the schools, County services, and County facilities bring maximum value to the taxpaying residents.
