Contribution rules
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
- I am at least eighteen years old.
Contributions are not deductible for tax purposes. The maximum contribution an individual, business, labor union, political committee, or other donor may contribute is $19,600. $9,800 for the primary election plus an additional $9,800 for the general election. Personal, business, union and PAC checks are acceptable. Contributions from individuals and businesses they own or control will be aggregated together and subject to a single limit. State and federal laws prohibit contributions from foreign nationals and foreign principals; contributions from permanent lawful residents are permitted. Contributions must be from the donor’s own funds and may not be reimbursed by any other person. If a donor’s contribution(s) to this committee and to other California state or local committees total $10,000 or more during the calendar year, California law requires the donor to file a Major Donor Committee Campaign Statement (Form 461).
