For as long as I can remember, I’ve called Tallahassee home. Our city is special in so many ways. Nestled under a beautiful tree canopy surrounded by lakes and springs– I’ve seen our little town grow into a small city. The good news is, our natural beauty is still here, we’re not stuck in traffic for hours like in other cities, and the sense of community and pride among those that call Tallahassee home is unlike anywhere else in America. That’s something worth fighting for.
Maintaining what we all love while guiding our city toward the next 200 years is no small task. We can grow our city without losing its charm, we can lift communities out of poverty without bankrupting our coffers and we can build for the future we all want to see while maintaining our natural resources and respecting our neighborhoods.
As a business owner, local trail hiker, husband, father and product of Southside Tallahassee, I am uniquely qualified to bring our community together under a common vision and to seek collaboration with all that are willing to make Tallahassee a better place.
Today, August 11th, I humbly announce my candidacy for Mayor of Tallahassee.
As your Mayor, I’ll dedicate my time to improving the way of life and affordable living for all Tallahasseeans, create high paying jobs, build reasonably priced housing and protect our neighborhoods and environment. We’ll welcome collaboration with our city’s top minds to jump start economic development, revive arts, culture, and live music and strategically invest in underserved areas to ensure our future prosperity is felt by everyone.
We know when life gets busy, you don’t have the time to attend or follow every City Commission meeting– under Mayor Matlow you can rest easy knowing the will of the people is driving our city’s decision making.
In the face of ever growing national and international political chaos it's clear we have to stick together now, more than ever. With your help, Tallahassee will be a beautiful and prosperous city for generations to come. Join us.
