Matriarch aims to increase the number of women in office with support to progressive working women without independent wealth and institutional connections or support.
Working class women are on the front lines of injustice and deserve to be part of policy making. If we want a government that takes economic inequality seriously, then we need working-class leaders who know what it’s like to try and make a living while wages fall, job security disappears, healthcare costs rise and organized labor weakens while under attack. If we want a government that fights for women, people of color, LGBTQ and immigrants, then we need to make sure our government is made up of diverse leaders who stand for intersectional economic justice.
