A Somerville native, Iraq War veteran, youth advocate, labor activist, and community organizer, Matthew serves as City Councilor for the most diverse district in the city, where he has worked to ensure every resident has a voice and that government operates effectively and equitably for all. He is now the Democratic candidate representing Somerville, Cambridge, Medford, and Winchester, bringing his record of service and community leadership to the next stage of public service.
