Help the Minocqua Brewing Company Countersue Gregg Walker and the Lakeland Times
Gregg Walker, misogynist publisher of the Lakeland Times, filed a defamation lawsuit against us in May, 2021.
He has since filed another defamation suit against us in October of 2022, and we know this harassment won't stop until we sue him back and build a fund to dissuade other right-wing groups from thinking they can abuse the fact that Wisconsin currently doesn't protect its citizens from frivolous lawsuits.
Every legal expert we've spoken with agrees these lawsuits have no merit, are un-winnable, and thus fall into the category of SLAPP, or “Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation,” which is an “all-too-common tool for intimidating and silencing criticism through expensive, baseless legal proceedings.”
Their strategy is to hurt the Minocqua Brewing Company because our political activism is turning Northern Wisconsin more progressive and they can't stand it.
